St. Mary’s Masters 2010 Raises Over $266,000
Lead by Geoff Molson, Chairman of the 2010 St. Mary's Masters, the Foundation’s 18th annual golf tournament - held at the Elm Ridge Country Club on Monday, June 21 - reached new heights of success netting over $266,000 for our Hospital.
All the proceeds of this event will be applied towards a St. Mary’s first – a completely funded McGill Chair in Family and Community Medicine Research at St. Mary’s Hospital Center.
The sun was shining bright as golfers enjoyed a spirited day of golf, smoked meat and kosher hot dogs on the course, cocktails, a live and silent auction, as well as a gastronomic dinner. Participants also had the pleasure of meeting three former Montreal Canadiens' stars - Yvan Cournoyer, Réjean Houle and Stéphane Richer - who challenged them both on and off the course with a longest drive competition and trivia questions.
The photos displayed below show the glorious day of golf that was enjoyed by over 200 players.
Keep your eyes open as next year's date will be announced shortly...

St. Mary's Masters History
The St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation held its first golf tournament in 1992 under the esteemed Chairmanship of St. Mary's community leaders, Jocelyn Thompson and Michael Boychuk. The tournament was played at Summerlea Golf & Country Club until 2007 where it moved to its current course at the Elm Ridge Country Club. Originally run under the name “Golf Classic,” the tournament changed to “The St. Mary’s Masters” in 2000 when Chairman Rod Smith and his committee rallied its likeness to the renown Masters Open!
