Our Mission
The Foundation's mission is to encourage and inspire the active personal involvement of our community to support and promote the identified priorities of the St. Mary's Hospital Center as it strives to provide Healthcare on a Human Scale.
Our History
Since its inception in 1973, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation has remained faithful to its primary objective - to empower the St. Mary's Hospital Center to provide the highest quality patient care to every person seeking assistance. This formidable objective is addressed through the funding of clinical research and education programs, the acquisition of state-of-the-art medical equipment and the update and improvement of facilities to ensure the comfort of patients.
In its early years, the Foundation consisted of no more than one or two persons, dedicated to the mission of St. Mary’s as it strived to meet the swelling demand of our community. Even then, St. Mary’s had already forged an indelible reputation for Healthcare on a Human Scale, attending to not only the physical needs of our community, but demonstrating an unprecedented understanding of healthcare in a 3-dimensional perspective.
We offered then, as we offer now, care for the whole person and a clear recognition that true healing can only be accomplished when taking into account the entirety of a person’s needs.
The cornerstone of our ability to sustain the Hospital through its ambitious projects… toward brilliant patient care… is the unfaltering support of our generous donors. We are fortunate to include in our donor base representation from all facets of the greater Montreal community, including individuals, corporations, community groups, public and private foundations, and a variety of organizations.
Today, St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation is one of the most successful charities of its kind in Quebec. Our team of professional fundraisers recognize the importance of collegiality and honours the many associations who rally the industry’s ethics.
