Volunteering at St. Mary’s
The Auxiliary and Volunteer programs are an integral part of St. Mary’s Hospital Center. Together, they represent 60,000 hours annually which is the equivalent of 40 full-time staff. We recognize their valuable contribution which is vital in enabling us to offer Healthcare on a Human Scale.
St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation is very honoured to recognize the significant contribution of the Auxiliary and Volunteer programs in improving the quality of life of not only our patients, but that of family members and staff alike.
Auxiliary
Since 1924, the Auxiliary has raised funds for the Hospital through various social events such as the Fashion Show, Spring Bridge, Daffodil Day, Heart Fund Campaign and Jingle Bell Fair. These dedicated volunteers also operate the Gift Shop, Book Corner, St. Mary’s Café and the vending machines in the Hospital.
Over the past 15 years, the Auxiliary has donated nearly $4 million to benefit the Hospital and its patients - an impressive amount that has contributed to the purchase of medical equipment, clinical research and supported many other Hospital initiatives.
